This is the first of at least 4 volumes on the passenger equipment of the Pennsylvania Railroad. in them we try to cover most of the equipment running in the 20th Century even to the point of some one of a kind cars. The table of contents of each book
will give you the class info of what is in the book. In many cases there were floor plans present of the cars in different eras so we included all of them and left
any date material intact with the drawing. In some cases the number of changes in
the lifetime of a series of cars ran to more than 1 extra floorplan thus making
the reader pay attention to the class and car number on the drawings at times.

The drawings are essentially blueprints that a skilled employee could recognize, repair, and service equipment that was in use. They also provided unit number data.

This data is something that each railroad had on hand for their crews operating
the trains and the shops in the areas concerned. In the case where repairs
were necessary these were used to help restore damaged equipment.
Due to the poor quality of the originals many of the folios required editing.
