This book contains the GENERAL INDEX which has the "owning" Road
within the System, the primary construction material of the car,
remarks such as what type air conditioning system or power the car
may be equipped with, and then the description. It tells about the
general classes of varnish but does not get into specific car number
info and fills the first 10 pages or so. After that is the passenger car
index which gives specific information by car number including any
renumbering, dimensions, lot number, year built and builder name,
weight, draft gear, type of brake, door style and truck capacity.

As could be expected, the Central had a large number of
business cars which are represented in these two volumes
plus many speciality cars such as Air Brake Instruction,
Clearance, and Express refrigerator cars.

The drawings are essentially blueprints that a skilled employee could recognize, repair, and service equipment that was in service. While much of the equipment
in here was built for the NYC System and subsidiary lines some was built by
them in their own shops using their own designs and copies of proven designs.

This book has 147 pages with 285 folios & tables.
